BALLARD
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
One of the historical neighborhoods of Seattle, with ties to Scandinavia, Ballard is great place to live. It has a strong residential feel and is a popular destination for all generations. Ballard Ave and Market Street are lined with shops, restaurants, bars, and more, and make up the central commercial space in Ballard. Golden Gardens, the Nordic Museum and the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks are the two main tourist attractions in this neighborhood. Tourists come to see the salmon make their way through the fish ladder and watch the sunset at Golden Gardens. Bordered by Shilshole Bay on the western side and Salmon Bay on the southern side, Ballard is the southwest corner of North Seattle. 15th Ave runs down to the downtown area, with many bus line options.
